Best Times To Travel To Cancun

December – April

The best time to visit Cancun is from December to April, when the weather is warm and dry, making it the perfect destination to catch some winter sun. Temperatures typically range from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius with plenty of sunshine, ideal for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities. This period also includes lively events such as the colourful Cancun Carnival in late February or early March and Semana Santa, the Holy Week celebrations in April, which showcase local culture and traditions.

Location

Located on the northeast coast of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, Cancun is a vibrant city famous for its stunning turquoise waters, white sand beaches and lively atmosphere. Just a few minutes from the city centre, you’ll find most of Cancun’s hotels in a narrow strip of land approximately 14 miles long that separates the Caribbean Sea from the Nichupté Lagoon and is home to most of Cancun’s beachfront resorts, restaurants and nightlife. With its tropical climate, close proximity to natural wonders and ancient Mayan ruins, Cancun draws visitors looking to explore rich history, enjoy world-class beaches and experience dynamic local culture.

Cancun - Tequila is to Mexico vacations as deep-dish pizza is to Chicago - it's just one of those things you have to experience on its native soil. If you want to find out more, head over to the Tequila Herradura Sensory Museum.

Cancun - Make sure your snorkel or dive tour includes a visit to The Silent Evolution near Isla Mujeres. Mine only included a stop at The Gardener of Hope near Punta Nizuc, and while as nifty and as uplifting an experience that may sound, it's not quite as impressive as the 400+ statues you'll see near Isla Mujeres.
